LG G Pad 8.3 Full HD 32/64GB Wi-Fi Android 4.2 Tablet overview

The unique selling proposition with the LG G Pad 8.3 is that it is the full first Full HD tablet in the 8-inch class. Despite this, the tablet features a slim and sleek form factor that is comfortable enough to hold in one hand.

The device boasts an 8.3 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that offer 16:10 aspect ratio, multi-touch functionality, WUXGA 1200 x 1920 pixels of resolution and fantastic 273 ppi pixel density in this size. 

It also sports a speedy 1.7 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Pro Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and integrated Qualcomm Adreno 320 GPU. The tablet has 16GB of onboard flash memory with support microSD card to expand storage capacity up to 64GB.

On the back is a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus for capture photos and 1080p video recording and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing for video chat and 720p video recording one. The camera app has some useful features, like night mode and HDR.

This is not a GSM device and it will not work on any GSM network worldwide. For Internet connectivity it uses dual-band 2.4 and 5GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, Wi-Fi Direct and DLNA. Other features of LG G Pad 8.3 include a microUSB (SlimPort) 2.0 with OTG support, Bluetooth 4.0 (LE), GPS with A-GPS support and GLONASS, 3.5mm headphone jack, usual set of sensors (accelerometer, gyro, compass). There's no video out; if you want to show video on a TV, you'll have to do it wirelessly through Miracast with the aid of something like a Netgear Push2TV adapter.

This is an Android 4.2.2 device and it comes with some unique LG enhancements. The device runs LG's Optimus 3.0 user interface. A key feature of the tablet is connectivity across all Android mobile devices with QPair which providing simultaneous access to recently opened apps, incoming calls, text messages and more from a compatible Android smartphone. In addition, QPair allows users to activate Wi-Fi hotspotting, so your tablet can access the Internet through your phone's data connection.  LG offers a host of of multitasking capabilities, including Slide Aside, which enables multitasking by sliding currently open apps off to the side using a three-finger swipe; QSlide, which controls up to three different apps in one window with no interruption; and KnockOn, which turns the device on and off by tapping the display twice.

This handset is equipped with a non-removable 4600 mAh battery. Dimensions of LG G Pad 8.3 are 216.8 x 126.5 x 8.3 mm and the weight is 338 g.
